The acclaimed ensemble The David Mayfield Parade is thrilled to unveil their new single, “Sapphire Town”—a captivating track that seamlessly blends masterful instrumentation with vivid storytelling.

“Sapphire Town” began as an instrumental piece by the band’s celebrated banjo player, Steven Moore. The melody, described by frontman David Mayfield as “haunting and otherworldly,” seemed to tell a story even without lyrics. Inspired by a video of sapphire miners in Madagascar, Mayfield was moved to capture the miners' struggle, resilience, and the delicate balance between hope and hardship in their lives.

David Mayfield leads “Sapphire Town” with his signature vocals and guitar, supported by The Parade—Ryan Wallen on resophonic guitar and harmony vocals, Keith Wallen on mandolin and harmony vocals, Steven Moore on banjo and harmony vocals, and Graham Bell on bass and harmony vocals—creating a rich, dynamic sound.
