Nashville, Tenn. – Acclaimed Bluegrass singer/songwriter Chris Davis just released his brand new single, "Gold Rush Town," available now on all digital and streaming platforms via Pinecastle Records (check out the full song HERE). This cleverly crafted track highlights the Ohio native’s dynamic artistry of blending top-tier musicianship with engaging storytelling. Showcasing Davis’ more playful side, the song features his signature powerhouse vocals and masterful mandolin playing, backed by an all-star lineup of musicians.
Written by the esteemed Jerry Salley, "Gold Rush Town" is an infectious, high-energy track loaded with humor and lively instrumentation. It captures the essence of classic Bluegrass storytelling, blending rich harmonies and world-class performing. The song includes a stellar band, including John Meador (guitar), Scott Vestal (banjo/engineer), Evan Windsor (bass) and Jason Barie (fiddle), creating a dynamic and textured sound that perfectly complements Davis’ spirited delivery.
“This is a fun song about a fella from a small town that has multiple lady suitors looking to get a little piece of gold for their left hand,” shares Davis. “The poor guy doesn’t have a clue what to do about it!”
The latest recording serves as the follow-up to Davis’ previous release, "Blue Kentucky Wind," penned by Larry Cordle and Leslie Satcher. It spent multiple weeks on Roots Music Report’s Contemporary Bluegrass Song Chart, while also climbing to No. 1 on Banjo Radio in late December. Both tracks will be included on Davis’ upcoming full-length Pinecastle Records project, set for release later this year.
With over 25 years of experience in the Bluegrass industry, Chris Davis has built a stellar reputation as one of the genre’s most respected vocalists and instrumentalists. His impressive resume includes performances alongside legendary artists such as Larry Sparks, Alecia Nugent, Junior Sisk, and The Grascals. Currently a member of Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers, Davis has also had the honor of gracing the Grand Ole Opry stage with Diamond Rio. As he continues his solo career, fans can expect even more exciting new music and performances in the near future.
