Nashville-based Laney Jones and the Spirits have released their new single,  “Another Rolling Stone.” The song reels and rambles and shakes with a carefree bravado, and sums up the band's gather-no-moss attitude more by showing than by telling. “Another Rolling Stone” follows 2024’s single, “Stay At Home,” and 2022’s full-length, Stories Up High, co-produced with Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff). Dubbed “everything that’s good about rock and roll” by GRAMMY-winning icon Lucinda Williams, the band isn’t afraid to seek out a good time. Spontaneous and caught in one-take, the music video demonstrates this, featuring a rowdy exploration of the depths of Nashville's Broadway.

"This song was written early one morning, in the inspiring throes of recording our last album, Stories Up High, back in December 2020,” says Laney Jones. “It was one of those songs that just popped out into existence. It was my mission statement. Where I wanted to head next sonically. What I want to do with my life...be another link in the chain of lifer musicians, committed to the craft. I truly believe life is about constant change and movement. At least that’s when I feel most free: gathering no moss, rolling ‘round this beautiful world with people who are also on that same quest. I’m honored to be road dogging it with and have recorded this song with friends like that -- the Spirits -- Brian, Carson, and Glen."

Early in 2025, the band released a four-song live EP through OurVinyl, filmed at Fighters Boxing Nashville in Nashville, TN. The filmed performance gives a taste of the band’s live intensity as they alternate between keeping a restraining hold on a charged, wild energy and letting it loose.

After a sold-out run supporting MIRADOR (Jake Kiszka of Greta Van Fleet’s new band) this past spring, as well as past opening slots for beloved bands such as Kurt Vile and The Heartless Bastards, the band will kick off their first headlining tour, playing 19 dates across the U.S. Kicking off July 16 at Chicago’s Cobra Lounge, they’ll also be playing dates in L.A., Seattle, and more, including multiple slots at beloved Oregon music fest, Pickathon.
