Willis, VA (April 29, 2025) – Will Clark proudly announces the release of “Battle of Blair Mountain,” a stirring new single that shines a spotlight on one of the most significant—and often overlooked—moments in American labor history.
Written by acclaimed songwriter Mark Brinkman, “Battle of Blair Mountain” commemorates the 1921 armed uprising of over 10,000 coal miners in southern West Virginia, who rose up against corrupt coal companies and oppressive working conditions. The conflict—fought in the hills of Logan County—was the largest armed labor revolt in U.S. history since the Civil War and laid the groundwork for future labor protections.
With poignant lyrics like:
Red bandanas tied around their necks
The miners stood as one
Against their fair destruction
And corruption by the ton
The battle isn’t over
They’re fighting still today
But the miners at Blair Mountain
Bravely paved the way
...the song serves as both a historical tribute and a reminder that the struggle for workers' rights continues to this day.
Joining Will Clark on this powerful track are an all-star lineup of musicians:
Chevy Watson – Lead Vocal, Guitar
Gavin Stinson – Bass
Jason Davis – Banjo
Randy Kohrs – Resophonic Guitar

Together, this ensemble brings the spirit of Blair Mountain to life with heartfelt performances and deep musical synergy.
