Nashville, TN (November 10, 2023) – The 615 Hideaway Records is proud to announce the new single “What Makes You Think” from David Parmley is now available on wherever digital downloads and streaming are available including iTunes and Amazon and streaming on Spotify and Pandora. “What Makes You Think” is from Bluegrass top male vocalist and fan favorite David Parmley and debuted at #4 on the Bluegrass Today's Weekly Airplay Chart. The new single is also a follow up to Parmely’s two previous Hit Singles “All Dressed Up” and “West Virginia” both songs reaching #1 on Bluegrass Today’s Weekly Airplay Chart.
Written by Bill & Jody Emerson and Wayne Atkins, “What Makes You Think” has a powerful classic Country ballad feel that contains strong harmony accompaniment by the award-winning talents of Rhonda Vincent and Don Rigsby. “What Makes You Think” tells the story of a tragically heartbroken guy whose girl has left him, but he wants her, and the world around him to know that he doesn’t need her and he's going to be just fine without her…But he deeply knows that these are just foolish untruthful words describing this painful breakup.
“What Makes You Think” was recorded at Digital Underground Recording Studio, Greenbrier, TN and produced by David Parmley and Scott Vestal containing performances by David Parmley (Lead Vocal), Rhonda Vincent (Harmony Vocal), Don Rigsby (Harmony Vocal), Scott Vestal (Banjo), Seth Taylor (Mandolin), Jim Hurst (Guitar), Tim Crouch (Fiddle), Jeff Partin (Dobro) and Dave Roe (Bass).
“What Makes You Think” is available for download to D.J.’s and program directors on AirPlay Direct.
David Parmley began his musical career at age 15 and by the time he turned 17, he began his full-time career as a member of The Bluegrass Cardinals. That band featured his father, Don Parmley, and David's lead and baritone voice was the backbone to The Bluegrass Cardinal sound. During a 25-year period The Bluegrass Cardinals recorded 18 albums and the material is considered the finest to come out of the 70's and 80's Bluegrass era.
David Parmely left The Bluegrass Cardinals in the 90's to pursue a solo career leaning more towards a modern approach to Bluegrass Music. David Parmley and Continental Divide topped the Bluegrass Charts throughout the 90's and now Parmley is back and excited to be recording again and creating new music as well as keeping the family tradition alive!
