East Nash Grass - Bend in the Road

East Nash Grass - Bend in the Road Stream/Buy Here

Willis, VA (June 10, 2025) – East Nash Grass is sharing a vibrant new cut with “Bend in the Road,” a song that leans into homegrown roots, road stories, and the kind of songwriting that only comes from living it.

Written by Harry Clark and Cory Walker, “Bend in the Road” started as a slow-burn idea and found its groove the way the best songs often do — with patience, a little humor, and a nod to family history.

“Cory and I had been working on this song for a while,” says Harry Clark. “We had a first verse and some other stuff about Granny Women and Worm Dirt, but no cradle for to rock that sweet baby. As luck wouldn't have it any other way, I had written a whole bunch of verses down to songs with no melody. The kind of stuff you tuck away for a rainy day. Several, in particular, about my grandmother and her family driving to California from Arkansas in the mid 1940's. After eating so much shortening bread and turtle soup that we thought we would perish, we relapsed into a state of pure bloated bliss and were blessed with this dirty ditty about our hometown of Madison, TN.”

“Bend in the Road” keeps things loose but purposeful, with that signature East Nash Grass feel — a tight band of pickers with sharp ears and a shared love of bluegrass that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s the second single from their forthcoming album, All God’s Children, dropping everywhere August 22.
