About the Song
“Flowers In Pulaski” is a small-town drama centered around a local Tennessee flower shop that has gone corrupt, unfolding through a central family and vivid imagery. Sonically, the track lives at the intersection of bluegrass, country, and roots rock, pairing Troubadour Blue’s harmony-driven sound and storytelling with the unmistakable grit of Grammy Award-winning band The SteelDrivers.
The collaboration is a natural extension of a relationship built over more than four years on the road, with Troubadour Blue serving as a main touring support act for The SteelDrivers. After years of sharing stages, bringing the two bands together in the studio felt like an easy next step. The SteelDrivers’ signature instrumentation and powerhouse vocals blend seamlessly with Troubadour Blue’s three-part harmonies and acoustic roots, giving “Flowers In Pulaski” an especially hard-hitting sound.

Troubadour Blue
Your favorite band of Nashville troubadours.
In a time when real connection often feels slightly out of grasp, Troubadour Blue makes music that pulls you into the present, back to yourself, and closer to your neighbor. Unforgettable three-part harmonies dance with rich acoustic instrumentation, kissing the listener like a light burn of whiskey on the lips. A modern mix of Americana, bluegrass and ’90s country with raw storytelling, Troubadour Blue is carving its own path through the heart of American music.
The roots of Troubadour Blue reach back to 2014 at Belmont University, where Daniel Kim Ethridge and Brenna Wheeler were both students. Their first encounter came when Ethridge spotted freshman Wheeler crossing campus with her fiddle and called her over to play on the spot. In a spontaneous moment impossible to replicate or forget, there began a musical connection that would grow into something much bigger than they could have predicted. More than a decade later, founding members and primary writers Ethridge (guitar/vocals) and Wheeler (fiddle/vocals) join voices with Max Sadler (bass/vocals) and are rounded out by brothers Rico Wallenda (mandolin) and Johnny Therrien (dobro), all fellow Belmont alumni.
