About
Audie Blaylock and Redline stand as icons of hard-driving, deeply sincere traditional bluegrass. Revered for his immaculate timing, commanding rhythm guitar, and an unmistakable, soaring vocal style, Audie Blaylock spent more than four decades shaping the landscape of American roots music. Following his sudden and tragic passing in January 2024, the bluegrass community continues to celebrate his profound influence as both a premier bandleader and a lifelong champion of the genre’s first-generation sound. Audie's remarkable journey as a premier bluegrass journeyman began at just 19 years old when he was hired by the "King of Bluegrass," Jimmy Martin, spending nine years touring as a Sunny Mountain Boy. Over the years, his world-class talents led him to anchor some of the most celebrated acts in music history, including impactful stints performing alongside master innovators like Red Allen, the Lynn Morris Band, and Rhonda Vincent & The Rage. In 2005, he formed his own powerhouse band, Redline, which quickly became famous for its polished, high-energy drive and served as a crucial training ground for many of today's top acoustic musicians. Career Highlights & Accolades: • IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year Nominee (2005, 2006). • Grammy Award-nominated artist and regular chart-topping presence on bluegrass radio. • Spent a combined 15+ years touring and recording with Bluegrass Hall of Fame members Jimmy Martin and Rhonda Vincent. • Recorded multiple critically acclaimed albums with Redline, including Different Than Today and Love's Fleeting Fire for 615 Hideaway Records. • Honored posthumously by his bandmates in 2025 with the poignant memorial tribute single, "Ran Out of Road," released via 615 Hideaway Records. Though Audie has gone on to the great cosmic jam session, his musical legacy lives on vibrantly through the extensive catalog of recorded music he left behind. Today, The 615 Hideaway and 615 Hideaway Records remain deeply honored to have served as the creative home for Audie Blaylock and Redline, ensuring that his driving rhythm, powerful voice, and unwavering dedication to authentic bluegrass will inspire generations of pickers to come.
