About the show

Andrea Bradstreet is a foundational voice in Colorado bluegrass radio and a dedicated preservationist of acoustic music. Her deep love for the genre comes from a place of honesty and authenticity. Before ever stepping behind a radio microphone, Andrea spent more than 25 years serving as the live sound engineer for the legendary regional band, the Bluegrass Patriots. Working the soundboard for over two and a half decades allowed her to intensely study the intricacies, timing, and balance of bluegrass music. Andrea’s radio career officially launched in 2003 when she helped kick off day one of programming at KRFC 88.9 FM in Fort Collins, Colorado. Her program, Rocky Mountain Breakdown, has been a staple of the station's schedule ever since the very first day it went on the air. Her dedication to the music has earned her features in major industry publications like Bluegrass Music Profiles and the Colorado Bluegrass Music Society's Pow'r Pickin'. Most notably, Andrea was named an honorary "Daughter of Bluegrass," a prestigious distinction bestowed upon her by the late, legendary songwriter Dixie Hall. A Curator’s Touch: Leveraging her decades as a sound technician, Andrea personally previews incoming music to ensure only the highest-quality tracks make the weekly playlist.
