Lee Michael Demsey is a monumental pillar of bluegrass broadcasting and a widely respected industry institution. Based in the Washington, D.C. area, Lee launched his radio career in 1975 at WGTB and joined the legendary public radio station WAMU in 1982, where he pioneered daily bluegrass programming. For over 40 years, his signature voice has defined the airwaves, moving seamlessly into the digital era as a premier host for Bluegrass Country Radio (88.5 HD2 and bluegrasscountry.org). Beyond the microphone, Demsey is a key figure in the industry as the longtime compiler for the National Bluegrass Survey in Bluegrass Unlimited magazine, providing essential exposure for artists. His dedication to the genre was honored with the IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award. On-Air Style & Sound Saturday Morning Tradition: The show airs every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern Time, with the final Saturday featuring the Bluegrass Unlimited Top 30 Countdown.
