About
For Elaine Roy, music has always been a matter of family, heritage, and pure instinct. Raised across the border in Coal Branch, New Brunswick, Canada, she grew up in a household steeped in traditional bluegrass, country, and old-time roots music. She learned guitar and began singing at just five years old, making her first public stage appearance by age ten. That early foundation paved the way for a massive career. Alongside her brother Lee, she co-founded the powerhouse duo The Roys. Together, they built an immense following on the New England circuit before taking their shared dream straight to Nashville. Combining traditional vocal styling with a progressive instrumental attitude, The Roys became a mainstay on the bluegrass charts and festival circuits, releasing celebrated albums through Rural Rhythm Records like Lonesome Whistle, New Day Dawning, and Gypsy Runaway Train. Their signature sibling harmonies earned them a global fanbase, regular appearances on major platforms like Larry’s Country Diner, and multiple Inspirational Country Music awards. After the duo stepped away from touring, Elaine took time to reflect on her journey, but the pull of the music never faded. Now, she is officially back in the studio and on the airwaves, launching a highly anticipated solo career. Backed by some of Nashville's finest acoustic pickers and releasing new material, Elaine Roy is channeling her lifetime of experience into a sound that honors her traditional roots while soaring forward in a brilliant new direction.
